MGM established in honor of Dr. Laxmaiah Manchikanti’s beloved grandmother, Manchikanti Gopamma. Laxmaiah Manchikanti was brought up in the village of Bodangparthy, a small town in the Nalgonda district in the Andhra Pradesh state with a population of less than 500. There was only one small school providing education up to the 3rd grade.
MGM was started in 1999 as a charitable trust to provide scholarships and to support many other educational activities, such as providing scholarships in the United States and India. The first school that was built under the MGM Trust was the Manchikanti Gopamma Memorial School. Manchikanti Gopamma Memorial School consists of a primary and high school.
Manchikanti Chandrakala is the daughter of Pampati Pedda Hanumanthu and Manikyamma. She married Dr. Laxmaiah Manchikanti June 4, 1975. They have three children: Anupama M.Gomez, Ph.D., Sunil Manchikanti, and Kavita Manchikanti, M.D. She is blessed by the successes of her children. Anupama is assistant professor at the School of Social Welfare and director of the Sexual Health and Reproductive Equity (SHARE) Program at the University of California Berkeley.

Manchikanti Yadagiry was born in 1919 in Theratpally, Nalgonda district, to small town door-to-door sales persons, Narsaiah and Annapurna Telukuntla. At a very young age, he was adopted by Manchikanti Gopamma who had no children. At a very young age, he was adopted by Manchikanti Gopamma who had no children. Gopamma was the sister of Telukuntla Annapurna. Yadagiry grew up in Bodangparthy and went into farming.

Manchikanti Laxmamma, wife of Manchikanti Yadagiry and mother of Manchikanti Laxmaiah, was also the mother of seven other children. She was born in 1927 in the small town of Namapuram in the Nalgonda district. Her parents were farmers. Manchikanti Laxmamma’s parents were Ramaiah and Lachmamma Surisetty. Her mother died soon after their marriage. Laxmamma had a particular fondness for the village and the people who lived there.

The Manchikanti Gopamma Memorial Charitable Trust (USA) was established in the United States in 1999 by Dr. Laxmaiah Manchikanti to honor the memory of his beloved grandmother,Manchikanti Gopamma. The goals of this trust are to provide assistance in education and charitable activities. As a continuation of the Manchikanti Gopamma Memorial Charitable Trust, the Manchikanti Educational and Charitable Trust (India) was established in India in 2001 to fulfi ll the family dreams of Manchikanti Gopamma, Manchikanti Yadagiry, and Manchikanti Laxamamma, along with the aspirations of Laxmaiah and Chandrakala Manchikanti.
