THE LEGACY OF MANCHIKANTI YADAGIRY
Manchikanti Yadagiry was born in 1919 in Theratpally, Nalgonda district, to small town door-to-door sales persons, Narsaiah and Annapurna Telukuntla.At a very young age, he was adopted by Manchikanti Gopamma who had no children.
At a very young age, he was adopted by Manchikanti Gopamma who had no children. Gopamma was the sister of Telukuntla Annapurna.Yadagiry grew up in Bodangiparthy and went into farming. He married Laxmamma Surisetty, daughter of Ramaiah and Lachmamma Surisetty, from Namapuram, Nalgonda district.
They gave birth to 8 living children, 4 boys and 4 girls. He was blessed with successful world-renowned children as well as many grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He devoted his life to the betterment of his children, family, and relatives along with the village of Bodangiparthy.He served as sarpanch (synonymous to mayor) of Bodangiparthy for 5 years, and was a member of Panchayat (synonymous to municipality) for 10 years. He passed away on June 3, 2006.
